Following the line of the previous blogs, where we talk about:
1. How to set up a habit
2. Strategies to segment the actions which bring us more
efficient to the creation of habits
Now let's talk of the most difficult element, the choice of the action I
benefits, because as sure you will have passed, you've found a host of
skills you need to develop to achieve your goal. But what about All actions have the same impact? How do I know what is the one that I need?
And to answer this question I leave you with the following exercise that I find super
interesting and helpful.
A few months ago I started taking a course that made me reflect on a theme
that puts in perspective the difficulty of the actions we take to achieve a
goal or improve one aspect of our lives.
Because we all know how difficult it is to blame for spending over a month, but what
that is actually difficult it is to divert money to the beginning of the month and save it.
And yes! this is applicable in every aspect of our lives.
In the following lines I will try to give you an example of the exercise of reflection
I learned, that reminded me of this point, it is called Difficult-Easy vs. Difficult-Difficult.
And, if!, we all know that no one learns in the head outside, however, you'll want to
leave a personal experience that certainly resembles some stage of your life.
Throughout my life I have been a person that likes to stay in shape, enjoy
having a capacity of optimal physical, and if why not say, to look good in the mirror.
However, during my time at university I began to notice that I was a little bit more
difficult to keep in balance my physical performance and body image. I even got to
find remedies on all of the sites from the routines published by the world-famous magazine
Mens Health up to folk remedies for fat burn (cardio in fasting, not carbs,
saunas).
And you wonder, do you Served? and I regret answering “No”.
So, the same as every good person desperate and with bad advice regarding
to physical performance and body composition, I figured “it will be that I'm not doing the
enough exercise” and it was so as to reach countless hours at the gym, double
high intensity sessions, and to consume protein hydrolyzed.
And here you think “sure, that if he served,” and I will return to desilusionarte and tell you “NO”
In fact, he began to have an effect completely opposite to that expected,
I started to feel tired all the time, I slept in class, I noticed that
began to accumulate fat at the abdominal level. And as you well can imagine, in time of
to listen to my body and listen to these signals, I persevered in this line of action
for many years, demanding my body more than I could.
Until one fine day, I questioned what actually I am doing everything I can?
Or, better said, what I am doing everything I should?
In fact, during these years I was doing activities that gave me only the
feeling of progress and most importantly, activities that my mind was ready to
perform, which were not necessarily the me that I was going to do to improve.
And now you will do and what activities you would have done to improve? What does not all
is the exercise?
Well look what desgloso in a simple way and using the exercise that you proposed to
start:
Actions Difficult-Easy (lead an effort, but it is an effort manageable and
regularly are not the ones that we're missing in the equation), an example of this in my
case:
-Exercise regularly
-Plan my time to prioritize move
-Meter exercise in complex schedules (nights)
-Take bars of protein
Actions Difficult-Difficult (beyond the effort, involving a true commitment
and are those which we often miss, which bring us closer to our goal and the
truly difficult because they take us out of our comfort zone) example of
this in my case:
-Plan my hours of training schedules, relevant (at least before the 21:00
hrs)
-Sessions less intense, shorter, but more focused on a person with
multiple activities claimants (medical student)
-Decrease my consumption of alcohol in each party (yes, before I was drinking a lot)
-Prioritize my sleep, sleep at least 8 hours (to allow my body to burn
fat and build muscle)
-Eat lean protein and quality
-In general, eating more balanced and prioritizing the quality
After reading this I invite you to do this exercise, think of which
are the activities that take you out of the truth of your comfort zone, those activities that
you know that would benefit you, but it is quite an effort. Because
we all know that it's hard to pay the gym, but it is even more difficult to go every day.
Remember that life begins outside of our comfort zone.
